JOBST® Comprinet Pro

JOBST Comprinet Pro is an anti-embolism stocking, indicated for prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis in surgical patients and patients requiring prolonged periods of immobilization.

The JOBST Comprinet Pro compression stocking provides a continuous pressure gradient to the leg, applying the most pressure at the ankle and gradually decreasing compression up the leg, corresponding to the decreasing venous pressure. This promotes blood circulation in the venous system and reduces the risk of deep vein thrombosis and venous stasis.

The compression stocking is intended to be used for thrombosis prophylaxis in surgical patients and patients requiring prolonged periods of immobilization.

Some of the key attributes of JOBST Comprinet Pro include:

  • Two-way stretch fabric with high extensibility provides wearing comfort.
  • With circumference measurements up to 66 cm at the calf (c-level) and 86 cm at the thigh (g-level) sizes for small, medium, and large, and 90 cm for extra-large, JOBST Comprinet Pro is suitable for the majority of patients.
  • Air-permeable fabric for comfortable wear.
  • Seamless circular knitting contributes to wearing comfort.
  • Non-constricting knit welt for better comfort.
  • The skin-friendly and robust thigh band does not fold back or wrinkle.
  • Made with durable material.
  • The inspection window set back from the toe extremity on the dorsal side of the foot allows easy and rapid safety assessment.
  • The reciprocated heel allows for proper positioning of the stocking.
  • JOBST Comprinet Pro maintains its pressure gradient even after 10 times of washing making it still therapeutically efficient while cost-effective.*
  • JOBST Comprinet Pro is latex-free.

The JOBST Comprinet Pro compression stockings are available in ready-to-wear options. Ready-to-wear garments come in various sizes and lengths. They are easy to measure and readily available off the shelf.

They are available in one compression level:

  • 14-22 mmHg**

*Under recommended conditions.

**the mean compression for an average ankle size.

What are the different compression classes?

Compression garments come in different compression classes, ranges, or levels. This description differs between regions or countries. In Germany, for example, the so-called RAL-GZG standard is dividing compression garments into four different compression classes from mild to very strong compression or class I-IV. The exact pressure of each compression garment is usually specified in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and varies according to medical necessity.

It is not always useful to assign a specific compression class to a certain condition, therefore Healthcare Professionals will make individual decisions on the suitability of a certain compression level for each patient. This is usually based on the clinical condition itself, the patient’s tolerability for compression, additional conditions, and further individual needs.

How to use the product

To use JOBST Comprinet Pro compression stocking:

  1. Pull the stocking down over the arm and grip the inside of the heel with your fingers.
  2. Turn the stocking inside-out, keeping hold of the heel.
  3. Pull the inside-out of the stocking over the front of the foot as far as the heel.
  4. Pull the stocking as high as possible over the calf.
  5. Reach into the overlapping crease with two fingers and slide it over the heel.
  6. Fold the stocking back and pull it over the calf.
  7. Carefully correct the fit to ensure that the heel section is positioned exactly over the curve of your heel.
  8. Align foot part with color-coded inspection window without wrinkles.
  9. Slowly and carefully draw the rest of the material up over the knee to the thigh while guiding it with your thumbs.
  10. Align foot part with color-coded toe inspection window without wrinkles.
  11. Check the entire stocking for correct fit and smooth out the elastic band with your thumbs.
  12. In case you wear a chap style (hip attachment), close the buttons on the belly band to ensure correct fit.

Other recommendations: Incorrectly measured and badly fitting stockings may cause adverse events. Open leg wounds must be covered with an appropriate dressing. Perform periodic neurovascular assessments using the inspection window. Remove stockings at least daily for skin hygiene and inspection.
