JOBST® Comprinet Forte

JOBST Comprinet Forte compression stockings are seamless, circular knit anti-embolism stockings with high extensibility. They are designed to support vein function and prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and edema following orthopedic surgery. Comprinet Forte 35 can also be used in the treatment of acute deep vein thrombosis.

The JOBST Comprinet Forte compression stocking provides gradient compression, applying the most pressure at the ankle and gradually decreasing compression up the leg, corresponding to the decreasing venous pressure. This helps promote blood circulation in the venous system and reduce venous stasis.

The compression stocking is intended for patients who are at an increased risk of developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT) due to existing venous disease, previous DVT, or following orthopedic or venous surgery.

Some of the key attributes of JOBST Comprinet Forte include:

  • Two-way stretch with high extensibility provides wearing comfort&
  • Made with air-permeable textile
  • Soft textile touch
  • Reciprocated heel
  • Durable

  • Seamless, circular knitting
  • Robust thigh band, no fold back or wrinkling
  • Skin-friendly thigh band
  • Latex free

The JOBST Comprinet Forte compression stockings are available in ready-to-wear options. Ready-to-wear garments come in various sizes, lengths and compression classes. They are easy to measure and readily available off the shelf.

They are available in two compression levels:

  • Comprinet Forte 23: Compression at the ankle level: 23 mmHg*
  • Comprinet Forte 35: Compression at the ankle level: 35 mmHg*

*Nominal compression for an average ankle size.

What are the different compression classes?

Compression garments come in different compression classes, ranges, or levels. This description differs between regions or countries. In Germany, for example, the so-called RAL-GZG standard is dividing compression garments into four different compression classes from mild to very strong compression or class I-IV. The exact pressure of each compression garment is usually specified in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and varies according to medical necessity.

It is not always useful to assign a specific compression class to a certain condition, therefore Healthcare Professionals will make individual decisions on the suitability of a certain compression level for each patient. This is usually based on the clinical condition itself, the patient’s tolerability for compression, additional conditions, and further individual needs.

How to use the product

To use JOBST Comprinet Forte compression stocking:

  1. Turn the stocking inside out up to the heel.
  2. Pull the foot section gradually over your toes, then over your instep, and then over your heel.
  3. Pull the stocking up the leg.
  4. Remove folds by gently pulling upwards.
  5. Spread the stocking using both hands like a massage until it becomes free of wrinkles.

Other recommendations: Incorrectly measured and badly fitting compression garments may cause adverse events. Open wounds must be covered with an appropriate dressing. Perform periodic neurovascular assessments on the foot. Remove stockings at least daily for skin hygiene and inspection.

How to care for the product

JOBST compression garments should be washed daily or at least every other day if possible. For this purpose, you may use a regular mild detergent. Do not use laundry additives such as fabric softener, optical brightener or stain remover. Rinse your compression garment well. Roll up the wet compression garment in a towel after washing and press out excess moisture. Do not wring. Do not dry the compression garment on a radiator or in direct sunlight. For tumble dryer compatibility, please check the product label of your compression garment.

For hospital use: JOBST Comprinet Forte maintains pressure gradiency after disinfection washing (e.g. washable 10 times, 95°C/205°F).
